A pencil popper with a compact cup, designed for saury, mahi-mahi, and needlefish patterns. It excels in a flat-rolling action that grips the water while maintaining a clean release.
Its flat-sided body and carefully tuned weight balance deliver both straight-line stability and sharp quickness. Proven in real-world expeditions from Sotobo and the Goto Islands to international destinations, it has consistently landed trophy-class yellowtail (Hiramasa), GT, and bluefin tuna.
In recent years, it has demonstrated overwhelming performance on large bluefin tuna. The fine bubbles generated by the small-diameter cup, combined with a rolling action that minimizes forward travel, make it highly effective on pressured fish that would not respond to conventional poppers.
Furthermore, the revived colorways enhance the flashing effect of the rolling action by emphasizing the contrast between the back and belly, drawing fish in from a wide range.
Even with PE 8–10 line, it maintains a stable flight posture and delivers reliable castability, even against headwinds.
