The "jigging" motion is the most fundamental and physically demanding action in eging (squid fishing). The new Sephia BB has evolved to make this action even more comfortable.

The biggest highlight is the weight reduction of the main shaft, the heart of the reel. By changing the material to aluminum, which is used in higher-end models, the C3000SDH model has achieved a weight reduction of 5g compared to its predecessor. Furthermore, the synergistic effect with the "G Free Body," which brings the reel's center of gravity closer to the angler's hand, dramatically reduces the feeling of weight.

However, it's not just light. The body material is the lightweight and highly rigid CI4+ body used in higher-end models. This minimizes power loss during winding and enables stable reeling. The double handles have counterbalanced weight distribution, so they don't rotate unintentionally when you let go, stopping precisely when you release your hands, resulting in superior manoeuvrability.

Double Handle (DH): The classic style for eging (squid fishing). Because the weight balance of the handle is even, the handle is less likely to rotate unintentionally even if you let go after jigging. This prevents unintended retrieval of slack line and stabilizes the jig during the fall. It also makes it easier to reel at a constant speed and maintain the desired depth.

Instant drag adjustment prevents the line from breaking.

The "Rapid Fire Drag" system was designed to overcome the conflicting elements of the squid: its unique jet propulsion and soft flesh.

With this reel, you can adjust the drag setting in just half a turn, whereas with a normal reel, you would normally need to turn the knob many times to achieve the same adjustment range.

When hooking: Set the drag tight to ensure the hook penetrates the fish completely (e.g., approximately 800g). During the fight: The moment you feel the jet propulsion, instantly loosen the drag to prevent the line from breaking (e.g., around 400g).

Being able to perform this series of actions intuitively dramatically improves the catch rate.

Even when fighting a squid weighing over a kilogram and the drag is being pulled out, you can still reel in a bit at the right moment to bring it in.

The "Infinity Cross" gear system offers improved durability, maintaining a smooth retrieve even during aggressive jigging. This smooth retrieve makes it easier to detect even the slightest bites (such as a squid nibbling).

Furthermore, line trouble is the last thing you want when using PE line for eging. The new Sephia BB is equipped with the "anti-twist fin," which has been highly praised in higher-end models. The fin located on the line roller suppresses line slack and prevents the line from falling off the spool or getting tangled.

Furthermore, the spool is a shallow-groove specification with a "PE 0.6-200m" line capacity, which is standard for eging (squid fishing). There's no need to calculate the amount of backing line needed. You can head straight to the field for the best eging experience right out of the box.
