Achieve your ideal condition New design methods

The general characteristics of a tip-action rod are its excellent maneuverability and the ability to handle the rod lightly.
However, as a trade-off, the angler feels tension as the load is applied towards the butt section, making it difficult to perform a fight that requires bending the rod sharply.
On the other hand, the characteristics of a mid-action rod are its ability to utilize its resilience and the deep, powerful fighting style that allows the rod to bend significantly.
This image is probably the feeling of a traditional surf rod.
So what is the ideal action for the angler? Perhaps a rod with the maneuverability of a tip-action rod combined with the flexibility of a traditional rod, such as a 1-1.25号, or a 1.75-2号 that doesn't bend unnecessarily, allows for control of the fish, and provides an extra layer of power when needed. To put it extremely, it would be a rod that possesses these seemingly contradictory characteristics.
However, this balance cannot be achieved with existing design methods. That's where the focus shifted to the further evolution of low-taper design.
In previous models such as the 'TOURNAMENT ISO AGS' and 'Ginrou Ouga,' which employed a low-taper design, the low-taper design was used to make the butt section, which had not been fully utilized before, more functional.
However, with the Megadis R, this idea is taken a step further, creating flexibility by bending the butt section and drawing out the rebound force generated by the bend as power. The low-taper design has been refined as a method to achieve both of these things and to bring about the performance that was lacking in each line size.

A slim, low-taper design creates the next generation of true action.

A new stage in surf fishing rods, created by a slender, low-taper design and V-Joint α.
Daiwa has adopted a slender, low-taper design that has been refined through countless real-world fishing tests, and has thoroughly pursued the ideal action required for each line size. The resilience that allows the entire rod to absorb the pull, created by bending all the way to the butt section, and the power from the rebound force generated by the bending, have created a "next-generation true action" that can only be achieved with a slender, low-taper design, which is a tip action that is easy to handle under low load and a mid-section action that creates even more power under high load. In the Megadis R, the balance of bending is changed to aim for the ideal action for each line size and length, so that the performance required for each line size can be brought out at a high level, by providing light and easy handling for low line sizes that require delicate operation and a deep bend for high line sizes that can handle strong pulls.

Regular = A "standard" regular taper that draws the optimal arc according to the load.
Reactor = A "low taper design" that stores energy by bending down to the butt section and converts it into lifting power, with the conversion mechanism (reactor) being the image.
Response = A standard taper but with the operability of a tip taper.
Retension = Has an extra level of tenacity to withstand a strong pull and has the ability to stop the fish. Refine
= A distinctive taper that refines the performance required for each line size through the low taper design.

Megathis R's commitment

1. The slim and low-taper design cultivated in the Tournament ISO has been refined. A new standard for surf fishing rods that balances the seemingly contradictory characteristics of tip action maneuverability and mid-section action tenacity.
2. Next-generation action made possible by the low-taper design that balances the maneuverability to control fish with the tenacity to withstand their pull.
3. Based on a regular taper, the lower the number, the more tip-action it becomes, and the higher the number, the more mid-section it becomes. Each rod is meticulously crafted, employing a design that maximizes the potential of each number.
4. Adopts the Power Hump Hold Seat (Zero Seat) used in the Tournament ISO, making it easier to grip and improving stability during fights.
5. The balancer effect of the rear grip reduces the feeling of weight. Concentrating the center of gravity around the handle further improves maneuverability.

Daiwa Technology

Sensory Domain Design System [ESS] (Expert Sense Simulation)
When a rod bends, it generates energy (restoring force) that tries to straighten it up in the opposite direction. This is "strain energy," the force that causes the deformed (strained) blank to return to its original shape, and it is an extremely important factor that affects the performance of the rod. DAIWA has independently developed a system to analyze and design "strain energy," which not only allows them to clearly understand "what is good" and "what is lacking" in numerical terms, but also makes it possible to reflect the angler's intuition in the design, bringing the rod closer to what anglers want.

V-JOINTα
By employing high-strength nanoalloy material in the joint section and utilizing DAIWA's unique precision machining technology, the V-Joint α was born, evolving the V-JOINT into something even stronger, lighter, and with a smoother bend. For fishing that involves repeated casting, thinning the joint section allows for a slimmer overall blank, improving casting performance and handling.

X45
To prevent twisting that occurs during actions such as casting, retrieving, hooking, and fighting, years of research have led to the conclusion that, in addition to the conventional structure (0° and 90° relative to the rod tip), wrapping a "45°" bias cross (carbon fibers, etc., angled at ±45°) is optimal for preventing twisting. By incorporating X45, twisting is prevented, resulting in a dramatic improvement in power, operability, and sensitivity.

MEGA TOP
Megatop is a carbon solid in which fibers and resin are uniformly dispersed, exhibiting consistent bending in all directions. As a result, its strength is dramatically improved compared to ordinary carbon solids. This makes it possible to create a thin, flexible, and highly tapered tip, resulting in a tip that not only provides sensitivity that resonates in the hand but also offers superior visual sensitivity that allows you to detect bites.

ZERO_SEAT
Zero Seat is a new reel seat design philosophy aimed at allowing anglers to enjoy fishing from the heart without any stress.

HVF NANOPLUS
"High-density HVF carbon," which reduces the amount of resin and increases the density of carbon fibers, is an ideal material for rods that prioritize toughness and strength. By combining Toray Industries' Nanoalloy Technology with Daiwa's unique manufacturing method, even greater strength and lighter weight are possible.

IC Guard
The vertical I-shaped and circumferential C-shaped protrusions, created by the paint, reduce line stickiness caused by moisture. Combined with the highly durable water-repellent super coat, it achieves a more comfortable line handling experience than ever before.

Product Details

The slender, low-taper design creates a versatile, true tone.
This rod offers the maneuverability of a tip-action rod, while its slender, low-taper design allows for a supple bend all the way to the butt section, resulting in excellent follow-through and the resulting rebound power. It boasts the monstrous torque of a mid-section action rod that bends all the way to the butt section, maximizing the rebound power of the butt section and combining the seemingly contradictory performances of follow-through and lifting power.
