Yamashita Eging Comp 2026
Join the Yamashita eging competition hosted in collaboration with Isofishinglifestyle and supported by EJ Todd. Catch, measure, post, and compete for a piece of the $1500+ prize pool!
Competition overview
The Yamashita Eging Comp is a land based eging competition for anglers in NSW. The competition is based on valid Instagram submissions featuring calamari caught using eligible Yamashita egis purchased from Isofishinglifestyle.
To enter, participants must purchase any 3 eligible Yamashita egis from Isofishinglifestyle and receive an official entry card which you can register using the link at the bottom of this page. This entry card must be included clearly in your catch submission photo.
This competition is limited to 150 participants.

Excludes Yamashita Sutte R and EGI OH F.
Pick up your entry card
You will receive an official competition entry card which you can register using the link at the bottom of this page. Keep this card safe, as it must be visible in your catch submission photo.
Catch, measure & post
Catch a valid calamari during the event period, take a clear photo with all required items, then post it to Instagram using the official tags and hashtags.
Event period
The competition runs from 21st May 2026 to 30th June 2026*.
Only calamari caught and posted during this period will be valid. Old photos, reposted photos, or catches from outside the event period will not be accepted.
Catch submission requirements
Your Instagram photo must clearly show all required items below.
Photo must include
- Yamashita egi used
- Entry card
- Measure mat showing the hood length clearly
Not valid
- Arrow squid
- Cuttlefish
- Old or reposted photos
- Calamari without the entry card visible
- Calamari caught with excluded egi models
Instagram submission
This competition is valid through Instagram submissions only. To submit your catch, post your photos on Instagram and include the required tag and hashtag.

Quest bonus system
During the competition, participants can complete special Yamashita Quest challenges. If a valid calamari is caught using an egi that meets the Quest requirement, the entrant will receive a bonus added to the hood length.

How Quest entries work
If your catch successfully meets a Quest requirement, you will receive two length entries:
- One entry for the original measured hood length
- One entry for the original measured hood length plus the Quest bonus
The Quest bonus applies to both the Largest Calamari prize and the Mystery Length prize categories.
Valid catch rules
Valid entries must
- Be caught during the event period*
- Be caught in NSW
- Be calamari only
- Show the Yamashita egi used
- Show the entry card clearly
- Entry card has been registered
- Show the measure mat clearly
- Be posted on Instagram with the required tag and hashtag
- Be caught land based only
Invalid entries include
- Arrow squid
- Cuttlefish
- Catches using Yamashita Egi Sutte R
- Catches using Yamashita EGI OH F
- Old photos or reposted photos
- Photos missing the Entry Card
- Entries outside the competition period
Fair play
This competition is built on honesty and good sportsmanship. Any form of cheating, false submission, edited measurement, misleading photo, or breach of the rules will result in instant disqualification.
Location & responsibility
This competition is open to valid land based catches made in NSW, Australia. Participants are responsible for following all local fishing rules, size limits, bag limits, area restrictions, and any other relevant regulations.
Please fish responsibly, respect the environment, and only fish in areas where fishing is legally permitted.
