The 2021 new Gamakatsu Gure Competition Special IV is specially designed rod with emphasis on the core strength of the rod. The key feature being an accurate rod with a super responsive blank has created a sensitive and powerful yet light rod that can feel the delicate bites and feel powerful in the hands of the angler. The diameter of the blank is thin to increase sensitivity and reduce weight to reduce fatigue when fishing.

Delicate, yet powerful
Gamakatsu's revolutionary "Super Top 2" technology is present in the Gure Competition Special IV with a solid section at the tip combined with a tubular bottom half of the top section. This results in a delicate tip combined with strength to help reduce the damaging the tip. After thorough research and development the length and thickness of the solid tip was reduced by a few centimetres to create the golden ratio. 
Highly elastic 40t carbon M40X
The M40J is unique material with the highest elastic molecules commonly found in shore jigging rods has been upgraded to the new M40X presenting a rigid compound that increases tension and rigidity in the blank. This has increased the strength by 30% whilst maintaining the lightness in weight. Despite having the elasticity present in 40t carbon blanks, the strength of the blank is the same as the 30t carbon blanks further increases durability. 
Toray T1100G - Light, rigid, sensitive, powerful
As seen in top end rods such in brands such as Gamakatsu, Zenaq, Ripplefisher, Shimano and Daiwa, the T1100G is 33t (30t being the strongest and has the most tension) and 10% stronger than 30t carbon. Commonly used in shore jigging rods to increase casting distance, manoeuvrability and strength, the same blank has been used to create the Gure competition IV series. 
 

Suppresses twist and transmits power-New PCS (Power Cross System)-As used in the Gure Competition special 2 and 3 (previous models), the PCS system is also present in the new Gure competition IV has been improved by reducing weight and removing unnecessary fibres compared to the conventional PCS. The PCS system cross-weaves the fibres at 45 degrees to increase rigidity and strength emitted by the rod at all angles and presents a work of art in the hands of anglers that is unbeatable.  

Reel seat
The reel seat is an important part of the rod as this is the section where anglers rely on to feel the true nature of the rod. The improved reel seat has been designed with comfort, grip and sensitivity in mind with a new ergonomic shape that is comfortable and practical. The carbon reel seat screw also reduces weight and increase sensitivity.
