The philosophy that has been upheld by each generation of CERTATE reels is comfortable operability for all users and reliable rigidity that never leaves you feeling uneasy. Carrying on this tradition, a new model is being added in 2026. The CERTATE HD maintains the basic performance of the CERTATE while adopting an aluminum rotor. A compact spinning reel's rotor should be lightweight—based on this philosophy, Daiwa has never used a metal rotor except in the first model. However, advances in technology have finally broken that seal. The Air Drive Rotor features a unique shape that appears to have been carved out of a sphere. Its development has succeeded in using an aluminum rotor while maintaining the comfortable operability of the low inertia essential for a compact spinning reel. The synergistic effect with the full metal (AL) monocoque body results in unprecedented high rigidity, excellent winding performance, and the rotational feel that only metal can provide. This special edition is especially effective when fighting large fish, where power is crucial, and when retrieving lures with high reeling resistance, such as steel vibes, blade jigs, and large minnows. For this reason, the lineup is purposefully limited. From the 3000 size, ideal for large sea bass, large trout, squid metal, and boat eging, to the 4000 size for large sea bass, blackfin sea bass, and surf fishing, to the 5000 size for shore jigging, light jigging from a boat, and casting, the HD is designed for tough use with a durable ATD TOUGH drag, a high-strength stainless steel drag knob nut, a high-strength stainless steel arm lever shaft, a crank bail that ensures reliable line feed to the line roller, and a newly designed MagShield line roller with improved waterproofing. It's not just about the numbers. The HD also boasts an emotional texture. The black-based exterior is adorned with a brilliant sheen thanks to a new paint job. Two more ball bearings have been added to the spool shaft, bringing the total to 12. This makes the drag smoother and reduces the feeling of the drag biting while in operation. From the body to the rotor, the CERTATE HD is made entirely of metal, providing high rigidity and excellent reeling performance. For all anglers who require even more strength. AIRDRIVE ROTOR

Using our unique theory, we have derived a new shape that is as if it were cut out of a sphere, and by thoroughly removing unnecessary material, we have achieved a significant weight reduction while maintaining rigidity.This has resulted in a dramatic improvement in the lightness of the reel's winding, which leads to improved operability and sensitivity.

AIRDRIVE BAIL

The Air Bail, which has adopted a hollow pipe structure that provides rigidity and lightness, has been made even lighter by reducing the diameter while maintaining the necessary strength. The bail angle is set to an optimal angle that allows the line to transition more smoothly from the bail to the line roller. This has resulted in even lighter weight and less trouble.

AIRDRIVE SPOOL

A thin-walled design has been achieved by eliminating unnecessary material to achieve the ultimate in lightweight design. Not only has the spool skirt been designed to be thin, but the interior of the spool has also been thoroughly lightened. The lighter spool has improved operability, including lighter winding and casting. Furthermore, a drag sound mechanism with low operating resistance has been implemented to improve response when the drag is activated.

AIRDRIVE SHAFT

The system uses a non-contact structure between the main shaft and pinion, a linear shaft that eliminates friction, and supports both ends of the pinion with bottom brackets, maximizing the power input and converting it into rotational force. Furthermore, the main shaft is supported by a high-precision collar, which significantly reduces rotational noise.

MONOCOQUE BODY

Monocoque body technology for strength and durability. Conventional spinning reels typically use a body and body cover to support both ends of the drive gear, secured in place with a few screws. Aiming to further improve precision and rigidity, the monocoque body eliminates the body cover and secures the drive gear by screwing a high-precision plate directly into the body. This increases gear support precision, while also improving rigidity and airtightness. Furthermore, by utilizing the space previously occupied by screws, we have succeeded in expanding the size of the drive gear to its maximum. The term "monocoque body" comes from the Japanese words "mono" (single) and "coque" (shell). This completely new shape, symbolizing the strength of a single shell, breaks the conventional wisdom of reel construction.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR

To withstand harsh environments, a reel needs a strong heart to support it. "Tough Digigear" keeps rotation smooth for longer.

ATD TOUGH

The ATD operates smoothly and continues to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. The ATD Tough uses carbon washers to achieve high durability. The pursuit of smooth start and tracking allows you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.

LC-ABS (Long Cast ABS)

While maintaining the ABS II concept of reducing contact resistance, the contact point has been moved forward to achieve smoother line release. The forward-moving ring makes it harder for the line to get caught on the ring, resulting in an approximately 5% increase in casting distance and trouble-free casting compared to the previous ABS II. This is the next generation ABS spool that achieves LC (long cast).

MAGSEALED

DAIWA's unique waterproof structure creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and rotor, shutting out seawater, dust, and other elements.

MAGSEALED LINE ROLLER

The line roller is the part that directly receives water and sand picked up by the line. By increasing the waterproofness of the line roller, which is subject to these harsh conditions, it helps maintain the initial performance such as rotation feeling and sensitivity. In addition, it drastically reduces the amount of salt and foreign matter that gets caught in the line, and by improving rotation, it also improves the effect of reducing line twist.

The drive gear also undergoes a special surface treatment to increase its surface hardness, reducing the adverse effects caused by sudden force. Furthermore, the larger LT3000, LT4000-C, LT5000-C, and LT5000 XH gear models, which are expected to be subjected to high loads, feature a new high-strength pinion gear, proven in reels like the Saltiga, for maximum safety.
