~Inherit the spirit~ Completely supervised by Ichiro Sato! Tuna casting rod "SALTIGA C DOGFIGHT"

This is the latest tuna casting rod that embodies Iichiro Sato's tuna theory. As its name suggests, this rod, named DOGFIGHT (meaning: single fighting), is designed for single fights, and the carefully crafted blank realizes Iichiro Sato's fighting style of "bending and catching" with a flexible taper and strong restoring power. Furthermore, by combining Iichiro Sato's know-how with Daiwa technology, the casting distance performance required for modern tuna games has been improved. BREAK YOUR RECORD We hope you will get a memorable rod with this rod.

Daiwa Technology

Sensitivity Area Design System [ESS] (Expert Sense Simulation)
When a rod is bent, energy (restoring force) is generated that tries to rise in the opposite direction. This is the "strain energy" that causes the deformed (distorted) blank to return to its original shape, and it can be said to be an extremely important factor that determines the performance of the rod. DAIWA has independently developed a system to analyze and design "strain energy," which not only clearly identifies in numerical terms what is superior and what is lacking, but also makes it possible to reflect the sensibility of the angler in the design, bringing us closer to creating rods that anglers desire.

HVF Carbon
In the carbon sheet, which has the greatest impact on rod performance, Daiwa has focused on not only increasing the elasticity of the carbon fiber itself, but also on the amount of resin that acts as an adhesive to hold the carbon fibers together. By reducing the amount of resin, which can be considered excess fat, and instead increasing the density of the carbon fiber, the "high density HVF carbon" is more muscular and powerful. It is the ideal material for rods that emphasize toughness and strength.

X45 Full Shield (=X45 Cobra Shield)
The X45 Full Shield structure tightens the outermost layer of the blank with a 45° carbon bias cross from the tip of the blank, where twisting is most likely to occur, to prevent twisting during casting, action, hooking, and fighting. This dramatically improves torsional rigidity, allowing for greater cast accuracy and the ability to fully utilize the rod's inherent capabilities.

V-JOINTα
By using high-strength nanoalloy material for the joint and utilizing DAIWA's unique precision processing technology, the V-Joint α was born, evolving the V-JOINT to be stronger, lighter, and with a cleaner bend. For rods with many joints, it is possible to shorten the joints, which contributes to achieving both strength and lightness.

Blank
A thick, resilient, and powerful blank required for a tuna casting rod. It ensures casting distance while reducing the physical strain of a long fight. Even against large, powerful tuna, it is possible to use the "fight with the rod upright" method that Ichiro Sato believes in.

RV Guide
The butt guide is an RV guide that allows easy line release. It is set up to prevent trouble even with thick lines. The middle thread is silver and black, giving it a sophisticated look.

Item Explanation

Model Explanation
84-6
This model is mainly targeted at medium-sized bluefin tuna and yellowfin tuna using PE5-6.
The blank is not heavy despite its power, eliminating shaking when casting and showing its true value when fishing in severe schools of fish.
The flexible tip and strong butt power allow it to skillfully handle not only top plugs but also sinking pencils, resulting in overwhelming casting distances.
81-8
This model is suitable for situations where you need long casting distance when fishing for bluefin tuna or large yellowfin tuna at the end of the season.
This rod is perfect when the pressure is on and the schools of fish start to sink faster.
The 8.1ft length combined with a low elasticity blank provides both long casting distance and fighting performance at a high level. This is
a versatile power rod that can be used for both bluefin tuna and yellowfin tuna.
76-10
A power standard model for bluefin tuna fishing.
The 7.6ft length provides a good balance between casting distance and fighting ability, and boasts outstanding usability in any situation.
This is the ultimate rod that you will want to have with you at all times when casting bluefin tuna, which can be done in a variety of sizes, areas, and situations.
72-12
This high-power short model maximizes its fighting performance to win the fight to the death with super-large tuna.
The resilient blank brings the fulcrum of the rod's bending when held upright closer to the butt section than other models, enabling Ichiro's style of "high-load fight with the rod upright" to a higher level.
The length of 7.2ft is not too short, making it easier to avoid obstacles such as railings, the bow, and the bottom of the boat, contributing to a more aggressive fight.

Sato Ichiro's Impressions

The reason why I decided to make SALTIGA C DF (DOG FIGHT) with DAIWA was because they wanted to renew the tuna casting rod to coincide with the 25 SALTIGA, and they wanted to work with me because DAIWA wanted to put their efforts into tuna casting in earnest. When I was asked to do so, the name DOGFIGHT had already been given to it. DOGFIGHT is the name of a limited edition SALTIGA model that is aimed at tuna casting and marlin casting games. I have used the black SALTIGA DOGFIGHT to the fullest, and I have a lot of attachment to it. The fact that they appointed me to make the highest-end rod, and that I felt an obligation to respond to their wishes after our long relationship, was a major factor in me accepting the job. At the beginning, I told them that it would be completely different from previous DAIWA rods. Still, I remember that I felt that I wanted to respond to their wishes when I heard their passionate desire to break out of the DAIWA shell and take the next step. Of course, we (SOULS) also make tuna casting rods. So, you may be concerned that the two rods will clash, but even though DAIWA and SOULS are both tuna rods, they use different materials, have different actions and lengths, and are completely different rods.

A perfect balance of tenacity, lifting power, sensitivity, and lightness.

In one word, the SALTIGA C DF is a "proper" tuna casting rod. There are many rods on the market that are called tuna casting rods and are only made to look strong, but in reality, many of them are not strong enough or have not been properly tested. However, with the SALTIGA C DF, we went all out. What did we do? Everything. We were thorough in our focus on the essence of what a real tuna casting rod should be! The elements that are absolutely necessary for a tuna casting rod are tenacity, lifting power, sensitivity, and lightness. Words may say the same thing about any rod. But, for example, lifting power. There are many rods that do not know how far they should go. Is it enough to have lifting power? Is it the best tuna casting rod if it has lifting power? It is not the case that a strong rod can be made, but it is not a matter of being strong. It is not a matter of being light. Similarly, there is also the question of how much sensitivity is necessary. In the end, the balance of all elements is important. In this respect, the answer that comes out is completely different between those who are serious about tuna casting and those who are not. In order to understand the true balance, you need experience, or rather, you can never know unless you go fishing seriously. To put it simply, regarding the SALTIGA C DF, I poured all the know-how I have cultivated so far into DAIWA rods. I poured the same into the 25 SALTIGA. If the reel has reached that level, I also wanted people to fish with that rod and reel set. Of course, SOULS has been thoroughly developing and testing for a long time. I think it's fair to say that this is the first rod other than SOULS that has been thoroughly developed. So I can confidently say that it is the best rod.

I am very happy to have been able to participate in such a challenging project.

Let's touch on the differences with the SOULS rods. In terms of specs, the rods are all different lengths, in the 6, 8, 10, and 12 class. None of them overlap. However, in terms of action (condition), the two are extremely close. To be more specific, the SOULS rods are designed to be a little more tenacious. They may also be stronger. And the SALTIGA C DF is a little more sensitive and has more tension. I think the casting feeling is also better. But those differences are slight. I think the difference is obvious when compared to rods from other manufacturers, but the difference is quite small when comparing the two. With the SALTIGA C DF, I would like a wide range of people, a wide range of anglers, to experience my ism, if possible. It is a rod that can be used by a wide range of anglers, from beginners to advanced anglers. If anything, the SOULS rods could be said to be rods for advanced anglers. Some people may feel that they cannot cast SOULS rods completely. However, I think that anyone can easily cast the SALTIGA C DF. We have slightly reduced the stickiness and increased the lightness, tension, and sensitivity to make it easier to cast. In addition, the ease of use is apparent in the ease of hooking and the ease of understanding the movements of the fish. This time, when I worked with DAIWA to make a rod for the first time, I felt that all the staff were adventurous. They had a strong desire to break out of their shells. They even changed the company rules to take on various challenges. The same is true for making reels, but it is a great joy to be involved in a challenging project to make something good. There are four items in the lineup. They can be used for everything from yellowfin to monster-class bluefin tuna. Even though it is a light class, the lifting power and breaking strength have not been compromised. I think you can use it quite a lot. I think that the light class can be used for casting yellowtail. Heavy items are of course monster-compatible. I hope you'll give it your all.
