The Poison Adrena range of rods are here to set a new standard of what a rod feels like . Perfect for all sorts of estuary and freshwater lure fishing, you won’t want to use another rod again. With 6 models in the range, 2 baitcast and 4 spin, there’s a model for you. The Poison Adrena range utilises Shimano’s Spiral X Core, which uses carbon tape spiralling up the inside of the rod. These blanks are stronger in all directions, all the while reducing blank twist and ovalisation in the rod. With Fuji K Stainless SiC guides and a Fuji Titanium SiC tip, you’ll experience incredibly trouble free and accurate casting. Perfect for those who love to flick lures up into snags and around structure. The Full Carbon Monocoque butt is an upgrade on the normal Carbon Monocoque butt as the rod handle from the reel seat down is now all carbon. This increases the vibrations put out from the rod meaning you can feel everything from rolling over snags to the slightest taps on your lure. With a Ci4+ reel seat, it’ll be one of the most comfortable rods you’ve held. Paired perfectly with a lightweight finesse reel, these rods will change the way you fish.

Key Features

Absolutely practical fishing. The history of the evolution of carbon monocoque grips is created by Adrena.

High quality and excellent adjustable performance that everyone who holds it can experience. Adrena was born as the second model of the Poison series with the concept of thorough practical fishing. Its history has always been accompanied by innovation. The carbon monocoque grip is a symbol of this. It completely eliminates materials that inhibit vibration transmission such as EVA and cork, achieving a resonant sensitivity. From the 18 Poison Adrena, it is equipped with a full carbon monocoque grip that is molded as a single unit up to the rear of the reel seat. The clear sensitivity has been further refined. And in 2024, the Poison Adrena, which underwent a full model change, adopts an "open end" design without an end grip cap. The desire to "eliminate materials that inhibit vibration transmission" has led to further weight reduction, resulting in a breakthrough vibration transmission performance.

Learning from true lightweight design, Adrena pursues the ideal lightweight design.

The 24 Poison Adrena, which incorporates the concept of "true lightness," has succeeded in further reducing the weight of the blanks by introducing new materials. In addition, the weight of the rod itself has been significantly reduced by adopting the new reel seat, Perfection Seat VI, and the accompanying change in the rear grip structure. Its lightness, which surpasses previous Adrena models, provides more comfortable operability and makes it easier to feel the movement of the lure. A higher level of actual fishing performance that can be experienced in the field. The 24 Adrena, which has the potential to approach even higher-end models, is the latest standard model of Shimano bass rods, combining versatility and high functionality.

The blanks have been designed to be truly light, and the open ends give them an even lighter feel.

The "open end" adopted for the new grip end is an evolution of the full carbon monocoque grip. A normal rear grip has a cap that closes the end, but the 24 Poison Adrena has a new capless open end specification. Thanks to the evolution of technologies such as Spiral X Core and High Power X, blanks can now be made lighter and stronger. With the weight reduction of the core parts of the rod, can the full carbon monocoque grip also be made even lighter? The ultimate measure adopted for this purpose was the "open end" that does not have an end cap. The strength is cleared by arranging the necessary and sufficient reinforcing parts. The grip area has been significantly lightened, taking another step forward in "true lightness," and at the same time, the vibration transmitted to the hand has become clearer, and we have succeeded in obtaining a good sensitivity.

The X-guide is touch-free, allowing even taut lines to converge smoothly.

X-Guide Touch Free Single

In recent years, stiffer lines such as fluorocarbon and taut PE lines are becoming the standard for bass fishing spinning tackles. While these have many advantages in terms of sensitivity and operability, they also have the disadvantage that the line released in a spiral shape during casting is difficult to converge. Therefore, with conventional guides, the line released from the reel hits the guide frame, which can cause a decrease in casting distance, damage to the line, and noise during casting. The X-Guide Touch Free, which is standard equipment on the Poison Adrena, avoids this phenomenon. By completely reviewing the guide frame shape and redesigning it, it is now possible for the released line to converge smoothly without hitting the guide frame or blank. Tight lines also converge smoothly, significantly reducing trouble during casting and improving casting distance.

It comes with a zipper that can be used to bundle various tools such as rods. If there is any excess length, please cut it as needed. *Once cut, it will no longer function as a bag

Technology

SPIRAL X CORE
Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. By integrating Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy® technology, Spiral X Core constructed blanks benefit from up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with Spiral X. Shimano is unique to the market by applying by high-strength carbon tape with this unique and patented Spiral X construction.

FULLCARBON MONOCOQUE
The Full Carbon Monocoque Grip is the evolution of the Carbon Monocoque Grip. The complete grip is made of a hollow carbon construction, eliminating the use of EVA. This results in a very lightweight construction which is also more sensitive. Compared to the normal Carbon Monocoque Grip the sensitivity has increased with 128%.

NANOPITCH
Shimano's Nanopitch manufacturing method enables fine-pitch and high-precision wrapping of the molding tape during the blank baking process. Nanopitch technology tightens the tape to the extreme and provides uniform pressure, increasing the circularity of the rod and ultimately improving overall rod strength.

ULTIMATE BLANKS DESIGN
Ultimate Blank Design is a design technology that carefully selects the target material from over 100 different types and places it in place in each section of the tip, belly, and butt of a blank. All material is in it's right place to realize the ideal rod action condition. It is a new design structure that realizes weight reduction while maintaining strength and power.

TAFTEC ALPHA
SHIMANO'S TAFTEC a is a unique solid tip that realizes flexibility and delicate bending without reducing the diameter of the tip or its strength. The TAFTEC a tip is used throughout the Shimano rod range where sensitivity is an important requirement of the rods.

Ci4+
Ci4+ is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. C14+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with C14+ are further reduced in size and weight.
