Shimano 26 Remare

The red shock that dominates the rocky shore.

The Remare, clad in a striking red that stands out on the rocky shore, symbolizes strength and power. Equipped with an overwhelming blank, it takes on large fish head-on, ensuring a sure catch of big game when targeting them with float fishing.
Its characteristic slender blank has evolved to be even slimmer, evolving into a slender yet thick-walled design. Not merely thin, but by fusing Spiral X Core, Parabola Tune R+ with high-modulus carbon and a thick-walled design, it eliminates stiffness with incredible responsiveness during sudden dives, and is a new dimension of blank that won't be overpowered by big fish even under ultra-high load. It possesses an almost excessive amount of power that allows you to drag big fish from the deepest parts of the main current and easily bring in good-sized fish. In addition, the tip is painted yellow to enhance visibility, making it possible to clearly detect bites. The crucial zoom mechanism reduces the change in action due to the difference in length when zooming in and out, minimizing variations in line tension caused by the change in length. This allows anglers to accurately judge the right moment to engage a big fish, regardless of the rod length, and consistently bend the rod with a consistent force. Furthermore, the zoom-in adjuster enables smooth and precise zoom-in, eliminating the hassle of zooming. This improves adaptability to a wider range of situations. The grip is equipped with the Fighting Support Grip II. It enhances contact with the elbow, reducing the feeling of weight on the rod when waiting for a bite and suppressing strain on the arm and rod wobble when fighting with one arm. This conserves the angler's energy and creates a significant advantage when facing a big fight. The slender yet powerful rod will make your dreams come true on the super stage of the rocky shore.

Key Feature

The incredible power generated by the highly elastic, ultra-slim, and thick blank.

Designed using M40X, a highly elastic carbon material, and incorporating Spiral X Core and Parabola Tune R+, this rod achieves an exceptionally thin profile compared to a standard size 3 rod. Compared to the Remare V and Laiarm BG 3, it is 25% thinner. Its thinness, comparable to a standard size 1.5 surf rod, enhances wind-cutting performance, greatly contributing to maneuverability on rocky shores where wind has a direct impact. Furthermore, the blank, which has been made as thick as possible, exhibits power that belies its appearance. It allows for precise line control to entice giant fish to bite, and maximizes the advantage after hooking a fish.

Eliminates the inconsistency in feel when zooming in and out, unifying the actual fishing sensation.

The advantage of a zoom rod is its high adaptability. By zooming in, you can bring the rod tip closer to the water's surface even from a high fishing position, and you can avoid obstacles during a fight. Also, because you can use a longer leader, the rig settles better. Conversely, when it's windy, you can zoom in to reduce the moment. While there are many advantages like these, changing the length changes the position of the butt guide, and a change in action was unavoidable. Until now, the action was fine-tuned for the zoomed-in length, but if you weren't used to it, the power would be lost during a fight when zoomed in, the line tension would become unstable, and there was a possibility of losing the fish. Therefore, in this model, the design has been significantly revised so that the action is the same whether zoomed in or zoomed in, in pursuit of a unified feel in actual fishing.

[Zoom-in Adjuster] The guide and reel seat can be precisely aligned without having to look at your hands.

**** add the ZOOM IN ADUST VIDEO HERE LATER ***

One drawback of zooming in is that the orientation of the guides and reel seat can become misaligned if you don't check visually. However, the new zoom-in adjuster allows you to instantly adjust the orientation of the guides and reel seat without looking at your hands by simply twisting it lightly to the left or right while pushing it in when zooming in, thanks to a mechanism located inside the butt of the rod. Furthermore, since you can zoom in without lowering your gaze to your hands, you can concentrate more on fishing, which is a major advantage.

[Fighting Support Grip II] With 2.2 times the contact area (*), you can set the hook quickly and with less force.

The Fighting Support Grip II increases the forearm contact area by 2.2 times compared to conventional products (*). By adjusting the offset shape of the upper part of the rear grip, increasing the area of the top surface, and setting the flat shape to a longer length, it makes it easier to adjust the wrist angle and place it against the elbow, reducing slippage and supporting quick, light, and reliable hooksets, even for smaller anglers. Furthermore, the Remare features groove processing on the butt section of the rod, which suppresses slippage when fighting large fish that require frequent belly-to-bounce fighting.

*Compared to our previous products.

Improved visibility thanks to the yellow tip.

The rod tip features a highly visible yellow paint finish. Even in dim light conditions such as twilight, cloudy days, or backlit situations, the movement of the rod tip can be clearly seen, allowing you to vividly detect even the most subtle bites.

Impression

Slender, strong, yet fresh. Become the king of the sea, conquering every second.

Tetsuya Takahashi

Just being slim and lightweight isn't interesting.

"My favorite rod"—bend it to its fullest and handle it with swiftness.

It feels strong and nice. I think it's strong because it's made of a new material. Plus it's thin and light. I wonder why it's VI (equivalent to 3.5号). However, in my case, until now, when a rod was too thin and strong, it felt kind of "dry" when I bent it. A thicker rod bends, so it retains a fresh feeling, but a thin and stiff rod makes a sound like "clang clang clang".

So, if it was just slim and lightweight, I wouldn't have liked it, but this Remare is strong yet retains a lot of freshness. Plus, zoom rods inevitably get thicker. I've been using zoom rods since I was young, but when you're fishing for big fish, the rod has to be thicker. So, being thin is a good thing.

But this time, by using a new carbon called M40X, they've achieved that strength despite how thin it is. You can tell when you hook a big fish with it, but it also retains its suppleness, so I thought, "This is good." No, not just "good," I "like" it. I don't think there's such a thing as a "good" fishing rod. It's all about personal preference, isn't it? Like, "I like that one."

The main thing is that there's no feeling of unease when you bend the rod. If it's a fish that you can just hold in one hand and gently and calmly bring up, then it doesn't really matter. Do you understand? But the sea is full of troublesome creatures that will cut your leader in two seconds. These are fish that you can't catch unless you move and react in an instant, so this rod is perfect for that.

The guide position is determined when zooming in.

Sophisticated "functions" enhance the precision of line operation.

You know, fishing rods don't really have any real functionality. For example, with a reel, there's the drag and the clutch lever, and those features provide practical benefits. That's why, among surf fishing rods, the ones with the most solid functionality are the zoom rods.

Zooming isn't just about what you do after hooking a fish; if you find it easier to hold the rod shorter before hooking it, you can shorten it to 485. Conversely, there are times when extending the starting point of the line at the rod tip—a little further out, or a little to the other side—is definitely better for handling the rod.

For example, if you zoom in and cast your line, and the line is placed on the surface of the water at a certain distance, and then starts to drift with the tide, it will carry the rest of the way, right? In that case, you don't need to hold the rod at full length, and it's easier to zoom in.

When you zoom in, before, you'd sometimes not even notice the guides were pointing in the wrong direction. But with this rod, they always stay perfectly straight. It's reassuring because it feels like it's being guided back onto a rail.

Also, it has a bright red body with a yellow tip. It looks like a luxury Italian car, doesn't it? Remare is actually Italian as well. It's a bit of a play on Italian, with "mare" meaning sea and "re" meaning king. So it means "King of the Sea." The king of the sea is the orca, the killer whale, isn't it? As a fishing rod for high-quality fish that can handle even the biggest fish, it definitely wants to be something like that.

The target is the open weight class, and the approach is borderless.

Easily transcend the limitations of a typical shore fishing rod.

If you're targeting fish in Japan, you could aim for large longtail grouper or yellowtail amberjack weighing 10-20kg. Also, barracuda, bluefin trevally, and dogtooth tuna weighing 10-15kg. I think you should choose your bait depending on the target fish, its size, and the environment.

But this Remare rod doesn't care about the type of fish you're catching. You can cast it out from the shore with a sardine as bait, or cast it out with a squid or sardine as bait, or use any other method to target big fish. It's a rod for surface fishing, though the definition of a surface fishing rod is getting a bit strange now.

During filming in China, we caught Okinawa black sea bream called "bila" from the shore, and a Marcoban that I call "permit," but they call it "honglachang" over there. We also caught a parrotfish called "fanyi." There are quite a few people over there who have been using the Remare since the first generation. This time, we mainly targeted bila (Okinawa black sea bream) with the V model, but in Japan, when you talk about top-fished fish, it's the Onaga, right? Over there, when you talk about most popular target fish, it's this bila.

It's a fish that grows incredibly large; the one I saw in a photo was nearly 5kg. And it puts up a fight unlike any other sea bream. It might be even more difficult than an Onaga. Plus, it doesn't rise to the surface like a Japanese sea bass; it bites at the bottom, making it quite challenging. That's why you need a Remare rod.

I caught a 5kg parrotfish and three or four big red snapper, but the Okinawa black sea bream were small, so I'll keep going to China to try and catch bigger fish. Next time, look forward to catching a fish that will take on the VI!

M40X

High-elasticity, high-strength material "Torayca® M40X"

The Spiral X Core utilizes Torayca® "MX Series" carbon fiber, a high-strength, high-modulus carbon material, in the most appropriate places. The MX Series is a new material that achieves both high strength and high modulus of elasticity by precisely controlling the crystalline structure of carbon fibers at the nano-level to create an "ultra-highly oriented microcrystalline" structure, thereby reducing defects. The potential of Shimano's original blanks has been further enhanced.

Zoom-in adjuster

The zoom-in structure allows you to naturally determine the left and right circumferential directions without having to look at your hands in relation to the guide's orientation. This reduces the hassle of checking the guide's orientation during operation and allows for natural movements even while fishing, contributing to smoother movements that respond to situational judgments.

Fighting Support Grip II

The Fighting Support Grip II is a lightweight grip that utilizes integrated carbon molding technology. By optimizing its shape, it increases the contact area with the arm, contributing to a stable feel during high-intensity fights. In addition, the convex shape of the top surface of the grip reduces unnecessary strain on the wrist, resulting in a design that provides a natural and comfortable fit.

Power Palm Fit Seat CI4+ & New Original Nuts

The front grip uses rubber material, and the areas where the base of the thumb, index finger, and middle finger touch are made thickest, allowing for a firm grip when fighting large fish. The use of an original nut further enhances strength and ease of tightening.

ToughTec ∞ Tip

By revising the material composition and manufacturing process, this carbon solid tip has been given unprecedented strength. Compared to ToughTec α, it features a stiffer, more sensitive feel.

TC-IMSG Guide

It uses Fuji TC-IMSG guides.

Technology

Spiral X Core
A next-generation basic structure that has evolved by using high-strength materials. Using Shimano's unique design and manufacturing methods, we thoroughly pursue further increased strength in all directions, including bending, screwing, and crushing. Shimano's original basic structure Spiral X, which enhances rod performance from the core, uses carbon tape made of high-strength resin realized by nanoalloy® technology. We have achieved even higher strength with selected materials. Compared to general structures, it achieves 1.4 times the screw strength and 2.5 times the crushing strength (compared to our company). Furthermore, compared to Spiral X, we achieved a 10% increase in screw strength and a 15% increase in crushing strength (compared to our company).
* Nanoalloy® is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Ltd.

Parabola Tune / Parabola Tune R / Parabola Tune R+
To achieve a smooth action, Parabola Tune redesigns the joints of each section, eliminating any rigidity gaps while maintaining strength. It successfully delivers a smooth action and power comparable to a one-piece rod. Furthermore, there are versions developed specifically for shore fishing, such as Parabola Tune R, which optimizes the wall thickness of the blank at each joint to allow the entire rod to bend smoothly, and Parabola Tune R+, which redesigns not only the joints but also the taper relationship between the front and rear sections to enable even smoother bending pivot point movement.

Taftec ∞ (Infinity)
The newly developed Taftec ∞ achieves three times the winding strength and five times the winding amount of a typical solid (compared to our previous products). It is a high-strength solid tip that surpasses the strong Taftec a.

Ci4+
Ci4+ is a further evolution of Shimano's proprietary C14 material reinforced with carbon fiber. Its features are that it is lighter and has higher strength than conventional resins.

Zoom-in adjuster
The circumferential direction is determined by a light twist and push, without needing to look at the guide. Smooth zoom-in operation is possible.
The zoom-in structure allows you to naturally determine the left and right circumferential directions without having to look at your hands in relation to the guide's orientation.
